Galaxies by GriffinsJoy Galaxies by GriffinsJoy
Welded Steel, small semi precious stone, wire and thread.

Thank You SO for the DD on this and all the wonderful comments!!
You all Rock!
So I want to answer all your questions:
Yes, I did weld this myself. It was about 2 1/2 feet tall. The disks were scrap steel I dumpster scored and those shapes inspired the larger one, which then inspired the cosmic theme. The balance was a challenging achievement as the solid steel disks half an inch thick are Very heavy. The stones, wire and thread hanging took me about 6 hours, the whole piece took about 10 hours of labor.
Note of interest, this piece was featured in my graduation exhibition this last June.

I think it is awesome how so many of you see the spacial relationship to the many orders of the universe, atomic, chemical, biological and galactic :D

Thanks again Everyone! <3

I am sure that video games had an influence on this. I have had some people say the same. Though I don't have a direct reference in My head, I can definitely see the parallels! The more in play the more it goes into the subconscious! :D
Yay! Thank you! I am glad you like it. :w00t:

Well you're welcome! It's nice to see someone so into their work! :D It isn't that common where i am. Trying to get an in-depth interpretation of my work out of people, backfires. I get really blunt answers :P "it's nice"
There's always a few people that walk in and just stun you with how they interpret your work.

I can empathize! I am really excited about art /creation! It fulfills the soul like nothing else. A lot of folk think that's a bit whacked! Lol
I love real strong feed back as well. :D I can't get better If no one points out the flaws!

Thank you.
Mind stats state healthy and functioning overtime. Yet I would dare to say it is not a ailment of mind that this generation suffers but a loss of imaginative spirit!
Thank you! *dreams of giant awesome cookies* Now you are inspiring me to the baking things :D

Wonderful! I am so glad that it stuck this kind of cord with you and that you said so. That is the ultimate goal for me as an artist. To find that feeling of kinship with my viewers so that we connect through the art. :D
