Welded Steel, small semi precious stone, wire and thread.

Thank You SO for the DD on this and all the wonderful comments!!
You all Rock!
So I want to answer all your questions:
Yes, I did weld this myself. It was about 2 1/2 feet tall. The disks were scrap steel I dumpster scored and those shapes inspired the larger one, which then inspired the cosmic theme. The balance was a challenging achievement as the solid steel disks half an inch thick are Very heavy. The stones, wire and thread hanging took me about 6 hours, the whole piece took about 10 hours of labor.
Note of interest, this piece was featured in my graduation exhibition this last June.

I think it is awesome how so many of you see the spacial relationship to the many orders of the universe, atomic, chemical, biological and galactic :D

Thanks again Everyone! <3

As a gamer, honestly, this just takes me places! I see Mass Effect all over this, but then again, thats just my gamer brain taking over!

I am sure that video games had an influence on this. I have had some people say the same. Though I don't have a direct reference in My head, I can definitely see the parallels! The more in play the more it goes into the subconscious! :D
Yay! Thank you! I am glad you like it. :w00t:

Well you're welcome! It's nice to see someone so into their work! :D It isn't that common where i am. Trying to get an in-depth interpretation of my work out of people, backfires. I get really blunt answers :P "it's nice"
There's always a few people that walk in and just stun you with how they interpret your work.

I can empathize! I am really excited about art /creation! It fulfills the soul like nothing else. A lot of folk think that's a bit whacked! Lol
I love real strong feed back as well. :D I can't get better If no one points out the flaws!
